Get Your Lease Ready
Condition Report
Before turning in your daily driver, you'll need to schedule an end-of-lease inspection at our dealership. We recommend booking this appointment about 50 days prior to the end of your term. A third-party inspection company will evaluate your vehicle, assess its wear and use, and create a condition report.
Excess Wear and Use Statement
Approximately two or three weeks after your inspection and condition report is complete, you should receive another document by mail: an excess wear and use statement. It will detail a repair estimate for the items noted in your condition report.
End-of-Lease Bill
Your condition report and excess wear and use statement explain how much your vehicle's repairs will cost. This repair total will be included on your end-of-lease bill, along with mileage and dealer disposition fees.
Wear and Use Waiver
Lessees are responsible for paying for those repairs unless the current lease includes a $1,000 wear and use waiver and it covers the fee listed on the excess wear and use statement. If you have no waiver, or if the $1,000 will not cover the fee, consider repairing these items prior to the lease's end.
Important Note: If you opt to get the vehicle repaired personally, please contact our Honda finance department so we can verify the vehicle work and apply credits to your end-of-lease bill.
Personal Items
Finally, take any remaining personal belongings from the vehicle before turning it in. We also ask that you leave the owner's manual in the glove box and return all sets of keys.
